Farewell to Arrtemis

Farewell to Arrtemis

Today my heart is broken for we have lost a great friend. Josh Jasman better know to all of us as Arrtemis. He had been fighting the good fight with Ewing Sarcoma for the almost 5 years that I knew him. I don't think there was a truer friend or greater guy than Arrty. Whether he was falling off bridges or offering up enchants to lowbies he had just met you had to love him. I remember meeting him for the fist time in-game in Ashenvale where Scott and I were trying to level while surrounded by gankers. Though he was to low to fight the gankers he still gave us free enchants to ease the pain a bit. Later in instances vent would erupt in laughter every time he managed to fall in seemingly impossible places. Though he was the brunt of many a joke it was all in good humor cause you could never really be unhappy with such a cheerful kid. Everyone that met him liked him and eventually he forgave me for stealing all his gear… lol.

I am very sad that I will never get to talk to him again and that he will never again bless us with his presence. I must remind myself that he must have suffered long and hard for those years and this finally gave him peace and he is now pain free for maybe the first time in years. God bless you Josh and we will all remember you and keep you in our thoughts for the rest of our lives!

For the Horde!
For Josh!

Josh's brother got in touch with me this morning and let me know.

I feel bad for those that never got a chance to know Arrty. He was almost always upbeat, no matter what he was going throuh. He complained more about poor internet connections at hospitals or his trouble beating dendar in a duel than he ever did about the pain he was in.

I've asked his brother to send me the funeral information. I'll update this thread with the information once I know it.

i may not have know him as much as the rest of you. but he seemed to me like a great man. may he rest in peace for the rest of time. god bless you Arrty!

Candie, can you make certain butcher's brotherhood has the obituary information? I'm assuming Arrty's brother passed it on to them but you never know.
I will check!

Hello to you all again. Just read Luna's post on the realm forums, and figured I could respond here.

I didn't even know arrty had cancer. I feel really bad now for not asking more about him, between the hunter advice we'd shoot back and forth at each other for months. He was a great guy, and will be missed. God knows I shed a tear when I read the news.

Best wishes,
Tokan

I posted on the realm forums under Luna's post about this. He was a fun guy and will indeed be missed.

"They swung the Nerfbat at the Rogue's head, but he vanished and it hit the Lock in the face instead."
I just got back from attending his funeral and I'm sorry to report that he was not feigning death. I was tempted to poke him with a stick just to make certain but I think the family thought it was odd enough to have 'one of those WoW people' there.

It was a nice service and it was nice to see that he was loved in real life as much, and probably more, than he was online.

His family was a blast to hang out with, you could see where he got his great sense of humor and upbeat attitude. Though they all claimed to get it from him.

I wish I could be online for the memorial service on Sunday, but I lack the whole active account bit.

Just remember, ask attending alliance to wear black robes and invite Dendar. Just don't tell the alli's that they're basically wearing massive targets for the grieving troll rogue.
This is such a sad news.

Arty is probably one of the nicest person that I have met on WoW. I am going to miss all those long chats he and I used to have.

R.I.P Josh...you will be missed...
