Hail Shaman of Amangur, \salute I am Randy, (Skyripper) and I am your class lead. I have been playing a Shaman for a really really long time. (alpha) I believe the shaman is the most unique of all the classes. Of course some would disagree, but I am not easily swayed. I think among all classes I am drawn to Skyripper because the class appeals to my desire to have the most options available for whatever comes along. I have always seen shaman as a kind of melee-mancer. Caster – Warrior hybrid. Simply put, there is little that you can not do as a shaman. Combine that utility with competitive dps/healing and you really have a class that can shine in any encounter. With a skilled player at the helm, there is no course that cannot be navigated. When played to capacity, they really are a sight to behold, and can literally turn the tide of any battle.
As you all know, there are three basic rolls you can fill as a sham. I will talk on each roll in the posts to follow. Additionally, I will have some guides pushed in the guide section and encourage you to "do your homework" if you wish to Raid as a sham. There are also four environments that each have their own requirements. Leveling, Raiding, PVP, and Arena. I will be focusing on raiding, because it is our guilds focus.,but I will cover all the bases.
The different roles Shaman fill. Enhancement: The Storm Rager. A un-rivaled spirit warrior who's bloodlust is fueled by the his mighty ancestors, and the elements themselves. "insert BL sound here" *Melee DW *Instant spell casts *Survivable *excellent utility *Tremendous Buffs -Fun Factor- Critting with wind fury proc, and the instant chain lighting that followed it.
Elemental: The Stormcaller. The Elements are your greatest ally and through you their devastating fury is unleashed upon your enemies. " Ka-Boooooom!" *Best Armored Caster *Powerful Spell casting *Can Heal/Purge *Tremendous Buffs -Fun Factor- Purging all the buffs off a alli, kiting him for a while, and then almost killing him with a double proc chain lightning proc. And then finally knocking him off the cliff you kited him to and purging off his slow fall. .
Restoration: The Spirit Guides: You are a guide, and protector of your people. Through you the ancestors speak and watch over the living. “Your journey does not end here. Rise, and remember your oaths…fight and reclaim your honor.” *High Survivability *Versatile Heals *Excellent Decurse *Tremendous Buffs - Fun Factor- Being able to heal through 2 players beating on you. and at the same time removing every buff they have.
